NDIS July 2025 Updates: Action Plan for Support Coordinators

Clock's ticking: lodge your registration by 1 July 2025, bump Level 1 rates, and prep clients for quarterly budgets. Scroll for the full checklist.

The Big Three Changes You Must Tackle

1. Mandatory Registration by 1 July

All Support Coordination providers—solo or agency—must be NDIS-registered with the Commission by 1 July 2025. A 3-month grace period applies if you submit before the deadline, but you'll still need to pass audit within 12 months.

2. New 2025-26 Price Guide

Level 1 Support Connection rate increases ~3.95 % to reflect the Disability Support Worker wage rise. Levels 2 & 3 hold steady. Therapy caps shift up/down—impacting plan utilisation you oversee.

3. Split Funding Periods & Plan Indexation

New/reassessed plans from 19 May release funds quarterly. Active plans receive an automatic top-up on 13 July to cover wage-indexed price rises.

Step-by-Step Registration Checklist

  1. Confirm current registration status or ACNC scope; decide verification vs certification.
  2. Download our audit checklist and tick off required policies.
  3. Book an approved auditor (allow 6–8 weeks lead time).
  4. Gather evidence: service agreements, incident logs, complaints register.
  5. Submit application in the NDIS Commission portal before 1 July.
  6. Complete Stage 1 & Stage 2 audits; address corrective actions within 60 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I miss the 1 July registration deadline?
You may continue working only if you lodged your application within the 3-month grace window. Otherwise, NDIA funds cannot pay you and participants must switch to a registered coordinator.
Do Level 2 & 3 coordination hourly caps change?
No. Only Level 1 (Support Connection) rates increase by approximately 3.95 %. Levels 2 & 3 remain at 2024-25 caps.
How much does a certification audit cost?
Solo coordinators typically pay AUD $1.5–3k. Multi-staff agencies can expect $4-7k depending on size and risk category.
Will participant budgets increase automatically?
Yes—on 13 July 2025, the NDIA re-indexes active plans so wage-driven price changes are covered.
How do I explain split funding periods to clients?
Describe it as "your yearly budget arriving in four quarterly top-ups so overspending early on is less likely". Use our free email template pack.
